Ingredients
- 12 ounces tortellini pasta
- ½ pound Italian ground sausage
- ½ medium yellow onion diced
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup cooked chopped bacon
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Sliced pepperoni
- 24 ounces pizza sauce
Instructions
- Start by bringing a large pot of water to boil, add the tortellini and cook per the package instructions. Once cooked, strain the water from the pasta and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat add olive oil and diced onions. Sauté the onions until they start to become soft (3-5 minutes). Add ground beef and Italian sausage to the skillet and cook until brown and no pink is visible within the meat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 additional minute or until it becomes fragrant. Season with Italian seasoning and a pinch of salt, if needed. Drain the grease from the meat, place the meat back into the skillet, and add the chopped bacon to the skillet.
- Add the jar of pizza sauce and the cooked tortellini on top of the meat (set ½ cup of meat aside to garnish the top) and stir to combine. On low heat, bring to a simmer. Top with mozzarella cheese and pepperoni. Cover with a lid and turn off the heat. Allow the steam to melt the cheese. Serve and enjoy!
